Searching for Veterans denied

Hello, picture this...

You are 17 years old and the vibration on the street says that "your country needs you". You are smart enough to know where you could be best served and what you can do about it.

So you show up to enlist in the National Guard to avoid the combat. You get in and find out why every male in your family since George Washington and Private Godfrey Ragsdale of Virginia has served in the military. You are patriotic and love your country. You cry sometimes when they fly your flag. You cry when they abuse it. You are a real American.

You just swear allegiance to God and Country and you are off. Then something happens and you feel further imposed and go Regular Army, signing enlistment papers and just trusting.

Vietnam, combat, dear friends are killed and some save your skin for you. You know somebody lied about why we were in the war but you go home for a year or so; only to hear the call again. You sign in to help a little known signal battalion as a Captain because they have no one to use the equipment properly. So you do parades and things. Again you are disappointed by actions of some of the others who will not get a haircut or who just do not understand.

The voice of God or some thing calls you again when the country is in strife and you just want to help so you find yourself running a scout platoon in Colorado with a 106mm that you can fire expert on the firing range. So you shoot down avalanches out of camp "red devil" on the weekends; but you are ready. Recuiting, and then out again only to hear it again because you know, you know you have to be ready.

And they hit again, at Kuait this time. It is Aug 1, and you are at the enlistment depot in Phoenix, but they say your heart is now too tired 256/178??? So, now you are really out, 30 years???

So what did their side of the enlistment form say? Did you read it? Did they say what they would do if you do this? You did your job, did they? So, send me email, so we can find you back in the mountains, hills, and valleys hiding still, not knowing what lies you will hear. Lets do it right and get your benefits you deserve! Are you just waiting to die so they do not have to pay you?
